Sorest is an innovative method for diagnosing breathing disorders during sleep. The system monitors and analyses periods of apnea and snoring. It also enables 24-hour tracking of selected vital signs, i.e. temperature and heart rate. In addition, the Sorest mattress is equipped with an active layer allowing to massage selected parts of the body.
Project Aim
MediSensonic owns the company developing the Sorest active mattress with a non-contact sleep measurement and modulation technology.
Measurement method
The Sorest system represents a technological breakthrough, featuring a new approach to monitoring the sleep of sick, impaired or infirm people, with a built-in layer of sensors performing non-contact vital signs monitoring functions and a massage mechanism.
The Sorest mattress collects data from sensors distributed over its surface and the information collected is then analysed in real time. The system detects the patient’s respiratory frequency and can therefore catch moments of apnoea and snoring. In addition, Sorest is equipped with monitoring elements for ECG, body temperature and humidity.
Range of application
The Sorest active mattress with non-contact sleep measurement and modulation technology can be used for:
- screening for sleep apnea in patients of all ages;
- monitoring the form of a sleep apnea in patients of all ages;
- supporting position-dependent sleep apnea therapy.
